when we started the chart up this year, we had a lot of insight from the previous year's endeavors that inspired us to look into our goals as a group, and as individual gamers. some of the idea behind our site has changed a little. with that in mind i would like to discuss my personal goal for the year.
every year since i have owned the Xbox 360, i have probably overloaded myself with acquiring new releases to the point that i literally have a stack of games that i have simply never played. add to that pile the list of games that i may have played all of maybe one time and earned like one or two achievements. this has made my record, as with many gamers, look unfulfilled. so my personal goal this year was to raise my average of gamerscore completion up to 50%. i don't have to tell you that i reached that goal almost instantly early in the year. that may sound like i am bragging, but i was apparently just a lot closer than i had anticipated.
after that, it became apparent to me that just maintaining that percentage simply would not be challenging enough. i mean all would have to do is get new games and complete them instead of finishing up the older titles. as a result, i decided that my goal for the year, is to increase my 100% completion average all the way up to 75%. in addition i will continue helping to reach our group goal of 100k in gamerscore points. i don't see this as an impossible goal, but i do feel it to be lofty enough to put a serious dent in the ominous "stacks" that are plaguing my game collection.
so this year, for me, it is not about being at the top of the heap. that is easier to reach than it seems. this year i am all about cutting down the wasteland of achievements that i already have at my disposal, but have yet to obtain.
